When importing timesheet data, invalid rows are returned saying that the user in the file cannot be found, but the user is entered in the User column in the correct import CSV, so why is this?
Check the CSV file to make sure that the
username does not contain any spaces at the beginning or end of the name,
as these will count as extra characters.
The username must exactly match with how it is entered in your system.
Also check that all the mandatory fields in your system match the fields
in the imported file format.
For example; if you are importing Timesheets and you have a task name in
the imported file format, ensure you have exactly the same task name in
your system.
I'm trying to import a CSV file, but its failing with the message 'File error occurred'. How can I get round this?
Please ensure that you have checked the spreadsheet
for any errors.
The most common errors are:
- carriage returns being used (http://www.techonthenet.com/excel/questions/remove_chars.php)
- extra spaces after text in cells,
- misspelling of names or tasks
- attempting to import task names that do not already exist in your system
- Duplicate entries, such as multiple entries of the same project code when importing new projects.
