While you are still within your contract period, you will continue to have access to your system and all data in it as normal.

This will only cease once you have cancelled your contract and the cancellation has become effective at the contract renewal date.

Once this date passes, we will provide you at your request with a database extract of all information stored in your system.

This will be in a customised database export format that will allow you to manipulate and report on the data in any way you wish.

  1. Are backups of our system made on a regular basis?

  1.

Yes. Your database is backed up from the server on a nightly basis. You can also export your data directly from the system from the Admin > Data > Export Data page. We currently keep backups for a maximum of 12 weeks.

  1. Is my data safe?

  1.

To ensure the highest levels of service to our clients V1 Project Accounting has chosen Rackspace, a leading ISP, to host our servers. Rackspace guarantees that the critical infrastructure systems, including power and HVAC, will be available 100% of the time in a given month, excluding scheduled maintenance.

Hardware replacement is guaranteed to be complete within one hour of problem identification.

The SLA provides unsurpassed levels of availability. To read more visit http://www.rackspace.com.

  1. How do we access our information if V1 goes into administration and stops trading?

  1.

V1 has an extremely strong financial position due to the high proportion of revenue being generated by recurring income from clients.

In the unlikely event of the business going into administration the administrators would ensure that each client receives a back up of their data.

This is in addition to the backup of data that clients can download at any time from the Admin > Data > Export Data page.

  1.  What development architecture is V1 Project Accounting built on?

  1.

V1 Project Accounting is fully developed in-house by our specialist development team and is based on the Microsoft .NET Framework.

The website itself was created with ASP.NET/C# and uses the Ajax.NET Professional Library to provide rich client functionality.

Our databases are developed and hosted on the latest version of Microsoft SQL Server and utilise Microsoft Reporting Services to provide powerful interactive reports.

The V1 Project Accounting API was developed in-house and uses Microsoft .NET 3.5 technology.

All API services are available in two versions, SOAP and plain XML to enable integration with the widest possible selection of development tools and client systems.

  1. Can we undertake our own security testing?

  1.

We aren’t able to allow 3rd parties to conduct security testing on our servers.

Security is of course one of our top concerns, so should you do have any particular questions about our server security please do let us know and we will use our best endeavours to answer them.

  1. V1 Project Accounting sometimes seems to run slowly, is there anything that can be done to speed up performance?
