Filtering - Projects > List View

 

An enhanced Filtering option is available at Projects > List View and you also have the option of selecting a saved filter as a favourite.

 

 

Quick Filter

To begin filtering for any Project Name/Project Code/Project Notes/Client/Project Manager/Owner/Project Type or Department combination click in:

 

 

The table below shows all the icons in the Quick Filter section and where they can be configured.

 

It is possible to select as many of the options from the list above in different combinations in the filter section to narrow down the results.

 

Icon

Description

  General Search

This icon represents a general search initiated by a user typing in the quick filter box and hitting enter. General searches will query Project Codes, Project Names, and Project Notes (from the project summary page)

  Client

This icon represents a Client.

 

Selecting a client in the Quick Filter will show all projects associated to the client.

Project Owner / Manager

This icon represents a Project Manager or Project Owner.

 

Entering any character in the users first name/last name or username are valid search entries.

 

  Project Type

This icon represents a Project Type that has been assigned to a Project.

 

The filter will show all projects with that Project Type.

 

Entering any character in the Project Type name are valid entries in the filter section.

 

To review the Project Types created please see the Admin > Project Settings > Project Types  section.

 

  Department

This icon represents a Department that has been created in the Admin > Company Settings > Departments section.

 

The filter will show all projects allocated to the department.

 

Entering any character in the department name is a valid entry for a Department.

 

To setup or review your Departments please see the Admin > Company Settings > Departments section.

 

Filter Options:

 

The following sections are available to help with Project Filters:

Adding a new Filter

To add a filter to the Projects > List View page:

  1. Click the 'Add' option.
    A new screen will appear with the following options:

 

 

Note: The only mandatory field required to setup a filter is the Name: section.


  1. Input your required selections.
  2. Click the Save and Apply Button.

 

The filter will now appear in the Filter drop down section.

 

Editing a filter

 

 

To edit a filter in the Projects > List View:

  1. Click the Edit option
    The previously defined filter options will appear:

 

 

Note: If the filter was created by another user please see the Sharing Filters section.

 

  1. Edit any of the fields available.
  2. Click the Save and Apply Button.

Delete a filter

 

To delete a filter created, ensure the filter has been selected from the drop down list and select the Delete option.

 

The filter will no longer appear in the drop down list.

 

Note: If this is a shared filter, it will delete all instances of the filter for other users.

 

Note: if this filter is set as a favourite, the page will default

Favourite filter

To select the filter as a Favourite click the option. 

 

Note: If the icon is blue, this indicates a favourite has been selected.

 

To remove the filter as a favourite click the option again.

 

Sharing Filters:

 

 

To share a filter with other users that have access to the Projects > List View, there is an option in the Project Filter section to share created filters.

 

To enable this feature, ensure the 'Other users can see this filter' radio is enabled.

 

Note: The Sharing option will only appear, if the shared Filter option has been enabled in the Admin > System Settings > Security Groups section.

 

Display Template:

 

The Display Template option in the Filter section, controls the column output in the Project > List View.

Note: The financial option will only be available if the users security group has the 'Can View Financial Details' enabled.

 

Sort By:

All filters that have been created have a Sort By option.

 

 

When the filter is applied, the options selected will appear in the Projects > List View.
